“One day we will beat Cancer, the more research we do the sooner that day will come”
Research is our most powerful weapon against cancer. Through our research, we’ve helped double UK survival rates over the last 40 years. But too many people still die from cancer and there remain groups of patients for
whom outcomes are particularly poor. Today, 2 in 4 people survive cancer.
Our ambition is to accelerate progress and see three-quarters of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years and bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. We receive no government funding for our research. Our life-saving work relies on the money you give us, every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated.
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research and our pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives. We have made enormous progress in the fight against cancer and continues to do so. However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters without whom we would not be able to fund our vital research.”
So please consider running the Bridgwater Half Marathon or 5K Fun Run in support of Cancer Research UK and help us beat cancer sooner.
